Before the Palms
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”
Luke 19:38
Palm Sunday is only a few days away. Before the branches wave, before the crowds shout, before Holy Week draws us toward the cross, this is your invitation to PAUSE.
Take a breath.
Slow down for just a moment.
And sit with one question:
What does Jesus want to do in me before Palm Sunday arrives?
That question matters because Palm Sunday is not just a story to remember. It is an invitation to notice the kind of King Jesus is. He does not rush in on a war horse. He comes gently, humbly, riding on a donkey. He comes close to ordinary people. He comes near to people with mixed motives, fragile hopes, and weary hearts. He comes near to us.
So PAUSE right now and PRAY:
Jesus, help me not to miss You this week. Quiet my hurry. Meet me in my distraction. Show me what You want to do in me.
Then reflect a little longer.
Maybe Jesus wants to slow you down.
Maybe He wants to uncover your deep need for peace.
Maybe He wants to receive your praise.
Maybe He wants to confront your expectations.
Maybe He wants to remind you that He is still the kind of King who comes close, weeps over brokenness, and keeps moving toward the cross for you.
Palm Sunday is next Sunday. Don’t rush there too quickly. Let your soul arrive before your calendar does.
Pause.
Pray.
Reflect.
Make room for Jesus not only to pass by your life, but to enter it again with mercy, truth, and peace.
So, before this Sunday comes, here is the question one more time:
What does Jesus want to do in me before Palm Sunday arrives?
