How Is Your Soul

Each mid-week pause, we ask in one way or another, “How is your soul?”

Today, I want to give you a list of descriptions for where you might be at with the state of your soul. Scan the words. Pick a few. Ponder what those descriptors might be pointing to.

What is the state of your soul?

Tired, encouraged, neglected, busy, affirmed, heavy, weary, full, encumbered, hurried, hardened, queezed, distracted, loving, longing, thawing, frazzled, fractured, bruised, strung-out, anxious, forgotten, wandering, abandoned, ambivalent, overwhelmed, joyful, numb, agitated, hurting, gray, healthy, brittle, hungry, unsettled, withered, expectant, disturbed, broken, foggy, apatheice, deceived, hopeful, free, discounraged, burdened, shackled, disillusioned

Which few words resonate with you currently?

PAUSE for a second in mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Read this prayer out loud and fill in words at the end of each sentence.

Linger on each petition by filling in your own words to God as long as it takes to be open, honest, and real.

You are speaking with the loving God of the universe who sent His Son Jesus to die for you and sent His Spirit to make his temple in your body.

God, you are my creator, Lord, and advocating sustainer.

As your presence abides with me right now, where I am physically, may I feel and know your presence deeper and deeper each moment of today.

I have done a soul-audit, and the words to describe how my soul is doing are…

I believe this is because…

I confess to you that…

In this season of my life, I am asking you to…

You are a good, good God. I am returning thanks for…

Lord, in your mercy. Hear my prayer.

In Jesus’ NameAmen!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
